Character's background
Dunali left his tribe's reservation at the age of 16 after his father was
crippled by white men. He stayed with his mother's family in Albany and
abandoned his people's superstitions and customs as he went through
college. Despite his Indian blood he became a moderately famous historical
linguist and a professor at Columbia University in New York. While on a dig
in Mexico his life was shattered again when some *thing* mauled the workers
and collapsed the tunnels. Dunali's called on powers he never knew he had;
he healed the surviving workers and led them back to
civilization.
Since then Dunali has been training with a shaman,
Swift Eagle. He's not sure how to integrate his academic life with his
spiritual one, and doesn't yet understand how much the ordeal in Mexico
changed him.
Character's appearance
Dunali is 38 years old. He is obviously an Indian half-blood but usually
dresses and acts as if he had lived in New York all of his life. His dark
hair is short and styled; his brown eyes are usually hidden behind glasses.
Dunali comes across as a college professor, impatient with others and
focused on knowledge. Most of his students and coworkers don't realize that
all of his free time and money is spent in the poorest parts of New York
working at a free clinic.
